Kirkham Christmas Lights

The junior band braved wintry showers on Friday evening to play carols for the Kirkham Christmas Lights switch-on. Having done several ‘solo’ engagements this season, they will be reunited with the senior band at the annual Christmas concert on 17th December at Lowther Pavilion. Please note, tickets sell out for this event, so book early!

Christmas All Wrapped-Up

The band’s busy season is almost at an end for this year culminating in our sell-out Christmas Concert at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham last weekend. The band and junior band enjoyed playing, and hope the audience liked it too! Thanks to Tariq Ahmed for compering the concert for us and all the helpers who did great work behind the scenes to make it a success.

The band have been out carolling on the streets of Freckleton and will be out again on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day morning with the final carol and jingle bells at The Coach and Horses from about 1pm.

As the year draws to a close, the band would like to thank Kirby Mason Florists for loaning us a van to transport our equipment to the engagements, T R Snape Family Butchers for the famous tray of meat raffle prizes, all those in and around the village who have supported us, and to everyone who have come to see us play throughout the year.

Have a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

Junior Band Wows the Crowds at the Half-Marathon

Freckleton Junior Band took to the stage in Freckleton during the famous Freckleton Half-Marathon. The mini concert showcased the band with a varied programme including a couple of songs from Grease, Uptown Funk and Oh Happy Day. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate and the rain got worse and worse, typical of the Great British summer! There were still plenty of smiles though, and the band did themselves proud. Thanks to Kath for conducting, Gail and the adult helpers, the parents and the youngsters.
