Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel our concert at Freckleton Sports and Social Club tomorrow afternoon. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we apologise to all those who were going to come and support us. We are aiming to reschedule at a later date if possible, so watch this space!
Please come and support us!
Once again the band took part in the Freckleton Club Day procession on a hot and sunny Saturday, and it was good to see so many people come out to support us.
Freckleton Youth Band again provided the live music at Bush Lane playing field for the annual Freckleton Half Marathon and Fun Run. In contrast to last year, when the weather let us down, this year saw wall to wall sunshine and a fantastic crowd. The Youth Band played a range of music, from classical to pop and film themes, and played to their usual high standard. Another successful performance to add to our ever-increasing list!
Freckleton Band provided the music for a Sunday afternoon of military themed celebrations for Armed Forces Day in Ashton Gardens, Lytham St. Annes. A short parade, a concert of three “halves” and another short parade led to the lowering of the flag to Evening Hymn and Sunset. An appreciative audience and a lovely cream tea in the interval made for an enjoyable afternoon!
Freckleton Band current and former players were proud to play for Harry Latham’s Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving, and then to march at the head of the cortège to the Holy Trinity Church for internment today. Harry had requested that the band play Eventide, Crimond and the Swedish Folk Song during the service, and The Middy for the march.
